eHarmony.com - Our rating (4/5)
eHarmony.com is an online matchmaking service that matches singles together for long term relationships or marriages. The eHarmony process starts off with a lengthy set of questions that profiles your 29 key dimensions. Although this part of the process may be a bit long, eHarmony.com tries to keep it simple by posing most of the questions as either true/false or multiple choices.
After finishing the questionnaire, you're able to view your free in-depth eHarmony.com personality profile. Your profile highlights you relationship strengths and weakness to help you identify what you are seeking in a relationship. It's also used along with your matching preferences to match you up with other compatible singles at eHarmony.
At this point, e Harmony's matching system begins matching you up with other singles that should make great relationship partners. When a match is identified, the matching system will update your "My Matches" page with the match and notify the both you via email about the match.
Out of courtesy, you should update all of your potential matches by going through the steps of guided communication or close out the match. If you decide to take the next step, you can either use eHarmony's 4 rounds of guided communication or go straight to their safe and anonymous Open Communication system. The eHarmony.com guidance system provides a forum where you and your match can exchange information about yourself so that you'll know each other on a deeper level. The eHarmony Open Communication system is where you can exchange anonymous emails and photos with your match.
Email is the only source of communications that is available at this matchmaking site. Paying members have unlimited use of their email. E-Harmony charges $25 or so more for membership than other online dating sites.
A valid question at this point is "why should I pay more?". Well, you're paying more for the use the eHarmony patent pending matching technology to help you find a long-term and meaningful relationship. You are paying more because you're tired of wasting your time and money in paying for services that offers singles that may or may not be right for you. You've decided that you want something more than just an unsuccessful date or a short-term relationship at best. That's why you should try eHarmony.
If you're looking for a short-term date or one night stand type date, eHarmony is not your choice
